Ani Ruins
One can find the ruins of Ani on the eastern part of Turkey, by the River Arpaçay and along the Armenian border. It has been popularly known as the "City of 1001 Churches." In the Middle Ages, it was one of the huge business and cultural centers. This city housed a lot of architecture-related masterworks like the Church of St. Gregory and the Cathedral of Ani. Before falling, the city was one of the largest centers of Armenian art and culture.
The Ani Ruins are a UNESCO World Heritage Site today, crossed by tourists who come to see magnificent landscapes with historic backgrounds.
