About Konya

The city of Konya is part of Central Turkey and known as the city of whirling dervishes and the heart of Sufism. Konya offers the spiritual ambiance and rich cultural heritage with the mausoleum of Rumi, the great Sufi mystic and the poet.

The Mevlana Museum, containing Rumi's tomb, attracts thousands of travelers and pilgrims from all parts of the globe in a deal to get enlightenment on his preachings. Konya alone, formerly the capital of the Seljuk Empire, hosts some of the most striking examples of Seljuk architecture: mosques, madrasahs, and caravanserais.

The religious and cultural festivals of this city have been widely famous because of the Sufi traditions that are connected with the Whirling Dervishes ritual. Konya is still one of the most visited places by tourists in Turkey, with amazing architectural landmarks and priceless spiritual inheritance.
