Aras River
Aras River is one of the important rivers flowing on the natural border of Turkey and Armenia to the east in Turkey. It rises in the region of Eastern Anatolia and flows for about 400 km before emptying into the Kura River in Azerbaijan. It supplies irrigation water to the surrounding agricultural areas and plays an important role in keeping up the good health of the regional ecosystems.
Throughout history, the Aras River played an important role in trade and cross-cultural interchange.
