Citadel of Van

Citadel of Van, in Turkey, is located on the heights overlooking Lake Van. One may get a bird's eye view of the surrounding countryside from the Citadel of Van, which is the most prime stronghold of Urartian Kingdom. Ran across the city, these imposing walls and ruins stand off as a proof of how important it was for strategical and historical reasons.
