Frontinus Street

Frontinus Street was the main avenue of the ancient Turkish city of Hierapolis. It was named for the Roman governor Frontinus and is a very well-preserved roadway from the first century AD that served as the main thoroughfare of the city. The boulevard is lined with important public buildings, shops, and imposing gates, showing the magnificence of Roman urban design and architecture.

 Now, visitors to Hierapolis are able to walk along Frontinus Street and see the dynamic daily life of this ancient city.
