Obelisk of Theodosius
Theodosius Obelisk is located in Sultanahmet Square. It was erected by Pharaoh Thutmose III at Heliopolis in the 15th century BC. Written on it, are conquests and Roman supremacy, with numerous images, which make it an object of interest. The latter was transported to Constantinople thanks Emperor Theodosius I, during the great Roman Empire in 390 AD. Owing to the history behind it, its massive dimensions as well as its chunk found in one of the most approached parts of Istanbul, people now visit it to understand the glimpse of the Egyptian Roman world.
