Sardis Ancient City
The ancient Lydian monarchy's capital was positioned at Sardis Ancient City, near Sart in Turkey. Sardis is famous for its wealth and good location, besides all its great structures and its being the city where the currency was invented. Some of the astonishing remains are the Byzantine cathedral, a huge gymnasium, and the Temple of Artemis.
Today, Sardis is one of the major sites of archaeology, attracting huge tourist traffic to it due to its vibrant history and cultural heritage.
