Schliemann’s Trench

Schliemann's Trench is a historically significant place which forms part of the ruins of the ancient Troy civilization. Schliemann’s Trench is a well known archaeological site that derives its name from the German archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann who dug the site in the 19th century.

This endeavor by Schliemann also partly confirmed that the famed Troy as talked about in Homers ‘The Iliad’’ was an actual place. As the archaeologists unearthed the town, they found out that the town actually consisted of many towns and through the trench they collided with the remnants of different civilizations. It is an engaging place for enthusiastic archaeologists and historians.
