Syria Avenue
This avenue was the one built after the name of province Syrian and it was a well used road in the city of Laodicea. The defining feature of Syria Avenue is the impressive colonnaded street which consists of rows of columns along both sides of the street. It is endowed with large blocks of stones on the sides including the surface of the Avenue. In this instance, it demonstrates the level of engineering reached. Several important public buildings, shops, and temples were likely to be along the avenue and it would have been a center of social and economic activity.
