Travertines (Cotton Castle)
The calcium pools in Pamukkale, ‘The Cotton Castle’, are stunning natural features situated in the southwest region of Turkey. These lovely cylinders of travertine, or white terraces were created through the precipitation of hot springs calcium hard water. When hot calcium hard meet with the cool water, it results in beautiful travertine with warm mineral water, thus creating beautiful and spectacular pools that have always made people come here for ages.
Pamukkale has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1988. Guests can walk with bare feet on terraces and bathe in the warm waters with a gorgeous view of the sky and the landscape applauding the magnificence of this place. The place still holds a prominent position among some of the finest national parks in Turkey.
