Johnston’s Jolly (Anzac Trenches)

At the key site of Johnston's Jolly on the Gallipoli Peninsula, visitors can walk through the recreated ANZAC trenches from the First World War. This is one of the few sites worldwide that offers people an opportunity to experience firsthand exactly what the soldiers went through during the Gallipoli Campaign. Much of the battlefield has been preserved, including the trenches, so as to provide an excellent example of what miserable conditions soldiers endured during trench warfare.

Johnston's Jolly is a very important interpretive and commemorative site in terms of providing visitors with an understanding of the sacrifice and history of ANZAC soldiers.
