Lone Pine Cemetery (Australian Memorial)

One of Australia's most famous memorials to its many men who fought and died in the Gallipoli Campaign during World War I is Lone Pine Cemetery, located on the Gallipoli Peninsula. The cemetery took its name from a lone pine tree that once stood on the battlefield and features rows of graves and memorial plaques in memory of the troops of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. This place is very famous for its sober and solemn atmosphere, which is a tribute to the losses of the campaign.

Lone Pine Cemetery became one of the memorable visiting places of the memorial sites by tourists and, to some extent, represents Australian military history.
