The Nek and Walker's Ridge

Some major locations on the Gallipoli Peninsula are The Nek and Walker's Ridge, which are very famous for the fierce battles in World War I. The Australian Light Horse had an ill-fated charge at the Nek, with most of the horses killed. Walker's Ridge was a strategic position taken by allied forces to provide them with a commanding view of the battle ground.

Both places have now been turned into monuments commemorating the bravery and bloodshed of the soldiers who fought here.
